Could you please send your immediate protest to managament PT. Aneka
Garmnetama Indah for the violation they make to our members.
Following is the story.

PT. Aneka Garmentama Indah a garment factory from KARWEL Group which
composed 12 factories operating in Jakarta.
It`s has employs 700 labours.

It has been two days--started 12 Juli till today-- 700 SBSI members from
Garment and textile sector went on strike asking for help from Fahmi Idris,
ministry of manpower for various violations they face at the company. last
night they were sleeping at ministry of manpower due to failed to meet
aggreement with management. They declared that they will remain staying
there till dispute to be setteled.

The main demands they raised are follows;
1. asking regular salary incresing. Adjusted to new minimum wages
determined by goverment.
2. transport and meals allowance. As regulated by ministry of manpower
regulation and company regulation.
3. freedom to associate and collective bargaining.The company refused
mediator of SBSI from national and local garment and textile sector which
tried to help them during negotiacion.

These violations have caused the workers to initiate protest actions. The
manpower ministry staft who were trying to mediate them in tripartit
negoitiation, unfortunately was not succeded to narrow the dispute. The
management refused to meet labours demand. So far, they only aggreed to
meet transportation allowance.

There was conciliation talks on July 12 attended by mabour department
officer, management, SPSI--a yellow trade union which only representing 25
labours out of 700 labours which represented SBSI--SBSI local union
leader,but on the contrary of most labour, SPSI againts this action by
support management not to meet labour demands.

PT. Aneka Garmentama Indah is one of 12 companies of Karwel Group which
produce various famous brands clothes for foreign market oriented. Those
product are follows; Tomy Hilfiger, Tomy, Women, GAP, POLO, DKNY,Edy Bower.
It`s send to various countries like; USA, Canada, Mexico, Hongkong,
Netherland, Itali.

Actions request;
Please send your protest by write of fax to PT Aneka Garmentama Indah by
demanding that management give the labour demands as mentioned above Please

Asking them to be fair as third party to settle the dispute. And using all
the ILO core convention which has been ratified by Indonesia goverment.
