The Dry Clean Show in Austria

"The Dry Clean Show," a theatre performance produced with the Austrian CCC as a partner, presents the story of three fashion companies that all compete to come up with ethically sound solutions to solve the problems in the countries where their products are manufactured.

Described as a liturgy and trade fair exhibition all in one, the show explores how the contradictory intentions and interests of all those touched by global capitalism come together in the production of clothes. The performers use music, dance, vocals, and a fashion show to convey their story which demonstrates the lengths that fashion companies go to keep their brand names clean.

The show will be premiered on the 21st of November 2003 in Graz (Styria) and run will until the end of the month. The city is currently the European Union's designated "European Capital of Culture" and this show will be a part of the celebratory festivities.

Information about the Austrian CCC will be distributed during the performances and in the publications of the steirisc[:her:]rbst, the art festival which translates as "styrian autumn".
