We have presented sportshoes with social fabrication mistakes to Nike

This was done in front of the gate of the office of Nike in Spain, in the "Prat de Llobregat (Barcelona). The Clean Clothes Campaign in Spain realised the symbolic return of 600 sportshoes because of the way they were produced: in exploited labour situations.

In this act an open letter was presented to the directors of Nike and Adidas. We were accompanied by Marina Rios, coordinator of the organisation MAM (movement of women who defend the rights of women en the Maquilas in El Salvador). She testified that the multinationals like Nike and Adidas are violating human rights. The Clean Clothes Campaign denounced the way sportshoes are made in the Third world by the workers in the textil-multinationals: these workers are exploited.

The Clean Clothes Campaign disposed also an announcement in favour of better working conditions to the broader public. A video of 20 minutes is made in the Betacam system so it can be shown on television.

The Clean Clothes Campaign (CCC) works together with organisations in nine European countries. In Spain CCC is coordinator of SETEM, where over 60 development-, social-, labour union and consumer organisations are organised.
