What is a model code of conduct?
A model code of conduct is a code that intends to set certain standards to which companies should adhere (for example meeting ILO-standards) and to prevent the multiplicity of codes of conduct. Model codes have been developed by NGO's such as the CCC and trade unions, such as the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions (ICFTU). Other model codes also exist, such as those developed by industry associations.
