GAP:
The Public Eye Awards Make an
Impact
Jan 2006, On the opening
day of the World Economic Forum (WEF), The
Berne Declaration and Pro Natura will confer
the Public Eye Awards for the
second year for particularly irresponsible
corporate behavior. Over 20 corporations,
both domestic and foreign, have been nominated
in the categories Environment, Social Rights
and Taxes.

'Runaway' employer
at Thailand's Par Garments
Jan 2003, Please find below a request for
action in the case of 149 Thai garment factory
workers who have been left without jobs
and no compensation, and salary and overtime
unpaid after their workplace was suddenly
shut down in December. Par Garment, located
near Bangkok, produced garments for such
international brands as Gap, Wal-Mart, Nike,
and Tommy Hilfiger. Read
