DVD title: Adidas-Salomon: The Mark Thomas Product

UK, 2001: 20 minutes

Description: Mark Thomas, satirical writer and broadcaster presents and organises a visit to a North London primary school where the geography lecturer invites the press officer of adidas to come and answer questions set by students. Jazzy Books donate free exercise books to schools, but these contain substantial amount of advertising, and they get market research opportunities as a result. School children question this practice, and interview David Husselbee in the presence of an Indonesian factory worker/representative and an MEP. David Husselbee is evasive and Mark Thomas demonstrates that workers are seriously underpaid in Indonesia. This satirical program offers a clear message and very empowering to see school children grill high-ranking adidas official.
